I grew up believing Republicans were the party of morality. They talked about family values. They talked about protecting women. They talked about personal responsibility and character.
Those values were supposed to be the foundation of the conservative movement.
After I left, I was sure that Donald Trump and his lackeys corrupted those values within the party.
But now, I’m certain that the party never actually had them to begin with.
Today’s Republican Party will spend years legislating what women can do with their own bodies, trying to control us and our lives, while barely blinking when serious allegations of sexual misconduct or abuse are leveled against Republican men in power.
Look at the pattern.
