I have been to the Smithsonian in Washington DC and took a very non-aware friend of mine. I am now 81 and the memories of that amazing historical place will be forever in my head. We often share our memories of that day. Don’t let any of it be changed. There is no doubt that there will be a section somewhere about our history with ‘trumpet’. There is no doubt about his ‘historical behavior’ will be a part of history. Thanks.
As I approach 70, with no remaining family, I have exactly ONE travel plan left....
Though I am white, to visit the newest Smithsonian, that of the African-American experience. (And maybe take some kids/families from my majority-Black deep south church along.)
The obvious question is.....Will it ever be repaired to accuracy, and if so, will I even still be alive by then to visit, and grow from the experience?
