Federal Judge Freezes Trump’s Controversial ‘Anti-Weaponization Fund’…..Per ABC, a federal judge in Virginia temporarily froze the Trump administration’s controversial $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund,” which was created to compensate people claiming they were politically targeted under the Biden administration. The fund sparked bipartisan backlash after reports it could potentially be used to pay Jan. 6 rioters and Trump allies, with critics accusing the administration of self-dealing after Trump agreed to drop multiple lawsuits tied to the IRS and Russia investigation in exchange for its creation. Judge Leonie Brinkema halted any payments or processing of claims while the court considers a lawsuit challenging the fund as unlawfully discriminatory.
Common Sense Takeaway: Good! Now let’s halt it permanently. If that’s not possible, I strongly believe every state should take the approach of California Gov. Gavin Newsom and tax the payouts at 100%. No insurrectionist, or anyone in general really, should receive a single penny of this fund.
Republicans Pass Map That Will Eliminate 1 of 2 Democratic Districts….Louisiana Republicans approved a new congressional map that eliminates one of the state’s two majority-Black districts and is expected to give Republicans a 5-1 advantage in the state’s congressional delegation. The redraw comes after the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, which struck down the previous map as a racial gerrymander and further weakened protections under the Voting Rights Act. Democrats and voting rights advocates blasted the new map, arguing it dilutes Black representation in a state where one-third of residents are Black, while Republicans openly defended the redraw as a partisan strategy to strengthen GOP control of the House ahead of the 2026 elections.
Common Sense Takeaway: We knew this was coming, but alas. Lousiana can’t handle two…TWO…majority-Black Democratic State House seats. What a sad, racist state of affairs. When you can’t win, you take the loss like a champ…oh wait, no, if you’re a Republican, you cheat.
Katie Miller Doxxes DNC Employee Online….Things got *messy* online this week after Katie Miller publicly posted the name and photo of the Democrats’ social media manager, Paulina Mangubat, following a viral exchange over Texas Democrat James Talarico. The drama started when Stephen Miller, Katie’s husband, falsely suggested Talarico was transgender because he supports trans rights, and the Democrats’ official account fired back with, “Shut up you ugly fuck.” After the post blew up online, Miller responded by attacking Mangubat personally, mocking her appearance and personal life while accusing Democrats of promoting “violent” rhetoric.
Common Sense Takeaway: What’s the saying? Don’t throw stones if you live in a glass house? It’s basically the Republican way of life now to call other people “ugly” or “stupid” or “fat” if you don’t agree with them. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen Katie. Also, her response to Paulina was to call her “30 and unmarried.” Katie, you're married to Stephen Miller...I think anyone would rather be unmarried than in your position.
