4 days to go. Let’s do this.
Now let’s break down the latest news.
ICE Officer Indicted After Allegedly Striking Man With Vehicle….A Texas grand jury has indicted an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer accused of intentionally striking a man with his vehicle during a pursuit in Houston earlier this month. Mario Alberto Morales is charged with second-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The victim, Miguel Parra Hernandez, suffered significant injuries, including multiple fractures to his right leg.
Common Sense Takeaway: GOOD! ICE officers are not above the law… even when they try to hide their identity. Every single ICE officer who has used a vehicle as a weapon or used their actual weapon unjustifiably needs to be held accountable. I hope this scares the living sh*t out of the rest of them.
Trump Administration's Noncitizen Voting Claims Face Scrutiny….President Trump has repeatedly claimed that hundreds of thousands of noncitizens are registered to vote, using those allegations to justify an unprecedented push for federal intervention in state-run elections. But an investigation by ABC News found that the administration’s evidence is riddled with inaccuracies. In California, nearly 40% of a sample of names provided by the Justice Department appeared to be U.S.-born citizens, while local officials in multiple states found people who weren’t even registered to vote. Election officials warn that acting on these flawed lists could result in eligible Americans being wrongfully purged from voter rolls or having their ballots discarded.
Common Sense Takeaway: Surprise! Another day, another manufactured voter fraud scandal. This is how you know things are not going well for Republicans. Must be the new voter data they saw. The real and only danger here is that eligible Americans could be wrongly purged from voter rolls because of the orange buffoon.
Economy Grows as Americans Struggle With Affordability….With the midterm elections just days away, new economic data paints a mixed picture of the U.S. economy. While GDP grew at an annualized rate of 3.4% in the third quarter and employers continued adding jobs, Americans are increasingly struggling with the cost of living. Inflation hit 3.7% in September, gas prices averaged $4.22 a gallon, and 71% of Americans now say gasoline is unaffordable, up from 28% in February. Consumer sentiment has also fallen to its second-lowest level in the 74-year history of the University of Michigan’s survey, highlighting the growing disconnect between economic growth and how Americans actually feel about their finances.
Common Sense Takeaway: Republicans criticized Democrats but never listened to their own advice: You can talk about GDP growth all you want, but that doesn't mean much to families struggling to afford groceries, gas, and everyday necessities. An economy is truly measured by whether people/voters can actually afford to live, not just by how impressive the numbers look on paper, and let’s be clear: people are not happy.
That’s all for today’s Common Sense with Ally Sammarco. Today is the LAST day of early voting across the country. Go vote! Find your polling place here.

About time an ICE agent is charged for something. I’m tired of these lawless POS running around kidnapping people.
And most of the growth in the GDP is from AI. The cost of living is going up and pay is stagnant. Think of all the people getting paid minimum wage.
Thanks Ally.
Have a wonderful weekend. Next week is going to be a long one.
But also too
That growth of GDP can likely be linked to the Uber wealthy spending their ill-gotten gains?
Or maybe to the increased cost of things?
I’m not an economist…just a person tired of all the BS
