ICE Shoots and Kills Innocent Man in Maine….Protests erupted in Maine after ICE agents fatally shot 26-year-old Joan Sebastian Guerrero, a father of a 3-year old, during an immigration operation in Biddeford. Officials say Guerrero was not the intended target of the operation but was shot after allegedly driving toward federal agents during a vehicle stop. Witnesses dispute parts of the official account, and because agents were not wearing body cameras, there is no video of the shooting itself. Immigration advocates, Maine officials, and the Colombian government are all calling for a transparent, independent investigation, while the FBI has taken the lead on reviewing the incident. Sources are now reporting that ICE has been ordered to stop conducting vehicle stops until further training is received.
Common Sense Takeaway: WTF! I watched the video and nowhere were these officers in danger. The only time the car was rolling towards them was when the driver, Guerrero, was already dead at the wheel…because they shot him. It was highly disturbing to witness. Enough is ENOUGH. ICE agents are not equipped to handle interactions with the public, and they do not operate as legitimate law enforcement. ICE must go.
Lindsey Graham’s Sister Sworn Into Senate….The Senate will swear in Darline Graham on Tuesday to complete the remainder of her late brother Lindsey Graham’s term, which ends in January. Appointed by South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster with President Trump’s backing, Graham has served as commissioner of the South Carolina Commission for the Blind since 2019. After their parents died, Lindsey Graham became her legal guardian when she was 13, making the appointment both politically significant and deeply personal. Darline Graham says she plans to continue her brother’s work and support the Trump administration during her time in office.

Trump’s Unhinged New 2020 Election Claims….President Trump says he’ll deliver a nationally televised address Thursday night unveiling what he describes as newly declassified intelligence about alleged foreign interference in the 2020 election. Because of this, he said he will be able to prove that both Sen. Jon Ossoff and Sen. Raphael Warnock are illegitimate Senators. The speech will feature top administration officials, including the CIA, FBI, and Homeland Security chiefs. Trump has continued to argue the 2020 election was “rigged,” despite courts repeatedly rejecting those claims and no credible evidence showing widespread fraud changed the outcome.
Common Sense Takeaway: The 2020 election? We’re still doing this? His narcissistic need to prove that he did not lose an election 6 years ago should be studied for ages. It’s also extremely telling that he is looking to disenfranchise two Democratic Senators from Georgia (but not others…?) because Lindsey Graham just died and Mitch McConnell is on his death bed. His playbook is so transparent.
